first day, modul focus how to be effective dgn kerje-kerje phd second day, focus how to be effective bile deal dgn orang lain antara tips yang dapat
1. banyakkan penggunaan brainstorming, mind mapping utk menjana segala mcm idea and solution masalah
2. bile kita stuck, jgn malu jgn segan minta pertolongan daripada orang lain – daripada org expert dalam bidang (ooh one day aku akan contact Goodchild – father of GIS), post docs, lecturer dalam school and other schools, support staff, colleague – kene mempergunakan sepenuhnya kerana PHD ni hanya 3 tahun –
3. lagi cepat kita buat, and try – lagi cepat kita akan dapat ‘feedback’ utk improve experiment kita..so jgn tunggu ape2 lagi… cepat buat! ..sometimes, pikir lama2 membuang masa jugak!
4. Kene tahu ape yang kita expect, and ape yang supervisor expect… and paling penting, kene tahu ‘when it is finish?’ dalam buat phd – adakah apabila SV kata sudah enough? adakah internal kate dah OK? – jawapannya adalah…… kita sendiri yang tentukan ‘when it is enough’… dgn cara… membaca full lot of thesis…thesis colleague yang dah habis phd ke kita baca thesis dia…bukan skip2 ke ape.. baca satu2 sampai habis then….bile kita rasa, thesis kita dah sama mcm kawan kita yang dah dapat phd tuh experiment dah sama level mcm ape yang dia buat so maknenye ‘enough la research work’ kita dah leh dapat phd lah tuh ngeeeeeeeeeeeeee….
then tips dapat daripada 2nd day – focus how to be effective melibatkan orang
1. Different person different ideas – how to modified ideas from others to match with our own purposes.
2. Different places, different rules, different culture – so we have to know how to adapt with these. dalam hari kedua aku juga belajar and nampak potensi collaboration which is not focus in our own field but how to collaborate with other field mcm2 projek ngupenye boleh buat yaaargh.. nanti dah dapat PhD first research grant nak wat research collaboration nak propose something GIS dgn mechatronics nk wat collaboration dgn en hubby ish…asyik berkepit jeee ni. and the important fact yang memang membuat aku berfikir sejenak..
In doing PhD, you are a project manager, and supervisors are only the resources (terus terbayang seperti project manager dalam ceta Mr Trump and his apprentices) hehehe
