Biography
Dr. Lin Feng Ng is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. He completed his PhD degree in 2021 at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Malaysia. He received the PhD Best Thesis Award from the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka in 2022. During his postgraduate study back in 2015, he earned a silver award at the UTeM Research and Innovation Expo. To date, he has published 37 journal articles, 2 conference papers and 15 book chapters indexed by Scopus/ISI. His publications have been cited more than 800 times, bringing the h-index to 18 and the i-10 index to 27. In 2024, he was awarded the IOP Outstanding Reviewer award for the Engineering Research Express and IOP Trusted Reviewer Status. In 2023, he was appointed as an organising committee member of the 4th International Conference on Material Chemistry and Composite Materials (MCCM 2023), programme committee member of the 5th International Conference on Metal Material Processes and Manufacturing (ICMMPM2023) and a scientific committee member of International Conference on Eco-friendly Fibers and Polymeric Materials (EFPM). He was given the priviledge to be a technical programme committee member of the 6th International Conference on Material Strength and Applied Mechanics (MSAM 2023) and co-chair of the Composite Science and Technology International Conference (COMSAT) in 2022. Currently, he serves as an International committee member of 2nd International Conference on Materials Physics and Applications (ICMPA 2024), guest editor of 10th International Conference on Metallurgy Technology and Materials (ICMTM2024) and technical programme committee member of 6th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Ecological Environment (AMEE2024). He has also been appointed as the guest editor for the journals Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering and Processes. He has also taken up the role of review editor for Frontiers in Materials: Polymeric and Composite Materials. He is serving as a reviewer for several high-impact and reputable journals. In all, he has reviewed more than 300 research articles that have been submitted to those high-impact journals. His research interests include Fibre-metal laminates, Polymer composites, Hybrid composites, Synthetic/Natural fibres, Mechanical characterisation, Fatigue life assessment and Energy absorption.
