Corporate Social Responsibility

Let’s dive into my impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives, where I demonstrate a commitment to giving back to the community and fostering sustainable development through innovative Biotechnology solutions.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities are an integral part of my academic life, where knowledge sharing with the community takes various forms. Some of the CSR activities undertaken by our team include:

Reducing Carbon Footprints

The objectives of this project are to:

  • Provide basic principles of sustainable, odorless, short-duration composting processes from small scale to large scale systems using biomass waste (agricultural products and food waste).
  • Offer knowledge on nutrient compost and analysis of major nutrients.
  • Provide hands-on training in composting and integrated organic farming systems.
  • Equip participants with a broad spectrum of knowledge on organic farming and organic pest control.
  • Provide information on soil structure treatment using compost and organic boosters.

Locations of projects:

  • Composting of food waste and urban farming at Glenegles Medini, Johor Bahru, sponsored by Iskandar Puteri Low Carbon Grant (Project amount: RM16,000).
  • Iskandar Puteri Low Carbon Project at Pangsapuri Kenari Kangkar Pulai, Johor, funded by Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MPIB). This project has received several awards, including Outstanding Planning Achievement in the Commonwealth from the Commonwealth Association of Planners, Geran Projek Urus Sisa Mampan dan Kitar Semula Kenari, Award Iskandar Puteri Rendah Karbon Kategori Institusi/Rumah, and Award Kejiranan Hijau 2020.
