AccomplishmentsProject 1: Algorithm for obstacle detection and recognition Task: Integration of ultrasonic sensor and 360 degree laser scanner with Arduino to test the performance of the sensor; Trouble shooting on the connection and coding from sensor to Arduino and Matlab; Developed algorithm for quadrotor to manoeuvre in the lateral direction using the tested performance. Duration: 1 February 2018 to 31 January Project 2: Conceptual design for a fixed-wing UAV to perform transition flight Task: Performed parametric study to choose the right BLDC motor and propeller to be integrated into a commercial fixed wing UAV; Performed analysis on the performance of the new VTOL UAV. Designation: Principal Researcher Duration: 1 October 2016 to 31 December 2017 Project 3: Characterization of propeller performance Task: Developed test rig to evaluate different propellers performance with different BLDC motors; Develop experiment testing manual for future use; Perform correlation from the experimental data to find the optimum motor-propeller matching Designation: Industrial training instructor Project 4: Develop controller for quadrotor Task: Development of controller to control hovering and waypoint movement of quadrotor using Matlab and Pixhawk; Trouble shooting on the connection between voltage and motor rotational speed.
