Biography

Mohd Hafizi Ahmad received a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in electrical engineering in 2009 and 2013, respectively. Currently, he is a senior lecturer and research fellow with the Institute of High Voltage and High Current, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. In IVAT UTM, he is a test and calibration manager, and he has been involved in many calibrations and testing jobs related to high voltage equipment. He is a registered professional engineer (P.Eng) under the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a registered professional technologist (P.Tech) under the Malaysia Board of Technologists. His research interests include conventional and unconventional partial discharge measurements, plasma applications, nanodielectrics, condition monitoring, and diagnostic techniques. He was formerly a visiting researcher with the University of Leicester, U.K., Tanjungpura University, Indonesia, and Sriwijaya University, Indonesia. He is a member of CIGRE, IEEE and IET UK.
