19 September 2019 – A workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning with Scilab was held at Pullman Hotel and Residence, Kuala Lumpur.
I registered in this workshop to gain knowledge about Scilab software, which is an open source software that is quite similar to Matlab. What is more, I spent RM500 to join this workshop along with the flight cost. It is unfortunate that I have no grant at the moment to cover this cost. Nevertheless, the knowledge that I gained during the workshop is worth my money and my travel time.
In this workshop, we were taught from the basic such as the introduction to the Scilab programming, to the more complicated level that involves deep learning and machine learning applications.
The instructor, Mr Chin Luh was very helpful and expert. He helped me to install the software in my MacBook (installation of any sofware in MacBook is very troublesome). I can see the potential of my students and I in using this Scilab in our research in the future.
The most important part is, Scilab is an open source, hence it is FREE!
