September 14, 2020 – CNetS has organized a writing and publication workshop for postgraduate students as well as staff under CNetS. The objectives of this workshop are:
1) to publish a proceeding that will be indexed under ‘non-index publication
2) to encourage and train the students and staff towards quality writing and publication
3) to increase the number of publication among CNetS members and students
The output of this workshop is expected to help SKE and UTM in terms of KPI in publication.
The workshop began with a sharing session by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Kamilah Syed Yusof on how to write quality papers for publication. Being a very experience researcher, Dr. Sharifah also talked about dos and don’ts when writing journal and conference papers, as well as gave tips on how to choose the quality journals for publication. The workshop continued with the reviewing and editing session of the papers submitted for colloquium. These papers will be sent to National Library to be indexed. It is hoped that such program will be organized again in the next coming years to encourage and instil the culture of writing and publish among postgraduate students and staff.
September 13, 2020, CNetS research group has organized a knowledge sharing session with representative from Rohde & Schwarz Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (RSTMY). RSTMY was represented by Mr. Amin Hashim, a PCBA engineer who has more than 10 years experience in the radio frequency and manufacturing of communication measurement device.
The session started at 2.00 pm and ended at 4.00 pm. During the session, Mr Amin was kind enough to demonstrate the usage of FPH spectrum analyzer for the purpose of EMF measurement to the students. He also shared some theoretical knowledge on superheterodyne receiver, as well as his experience as an engineer in electronic manufacturing company.
