Silver for BFC Research Project

Our brain functional connectivity research project won silver during FSSH UTM Research and Innovation Competition 2021. I’m not really a big fan of competitions of this sort, to be honest (this was my first ever attempt; after receiving an “official encouragement” from the faculty), but looks like the last minute effort paid off after all. Alhamdulillah.

PhD Viva-Voce Session 2020/2021-2 (Examiner)

I found it strange at first, given the fact that I have not, so far, graduated any PhD student, yet, had been actually appointed (and on short notice) as the “replacement internal examiner” or “penilai gantian” for AP Dr. Zainudin’s PhD student.

I received an official notification via email from the office on 13 July 2021 and the viva was scheduled this morning (2 August 2021), so I was given less than 2 weeks to evaluate the thesis. Plus, in between the “aftermath” of my first vaccine shot I had to accept this “bidan terjun” job.

I hope I had fulfilled my responsibility and I would like to congratulate Bapak Muhammadi for successfully negotiated his PhD thesis.

During the session we were joined by Prof. Rosnah Ismail (CUCMS) as the external examiner, while Prof. Hamdan chaired the session, assisted by Dr. Rustam. It was a fruitful session, all in all.

Song of the Day #13

I can feel it in a second
Just let the words trickle down
What I had was nothing less than
I don’t know why I feel so down
And I know, its hard
What’s all this falling out
…”

Everyone of us responds differently to the uncertainties caused by the pandemic. If you are feeling down and blue, try talking through the things that have been bugging you to someone you can trust with. In UTM, help is around, and you can just reach out to the ones who care.
