SHPP1002 (04) Student’s Learning Reflection

Last week I asked my SHPS students to reflect on the topic ” “Philosophy & the contemporary educational issues: Share your thoughts…” via Padlet. Going through their responses gave the sense that the students have the ability to make sense of the topics that had been discussed during OL and related them with the challenges posed by the pandemic. I do feel that reflective practice is one of the mechanism in my attempt to humanising OL by encouraging students to make “relatable” of things that they are experiencing during their learning process.

SHPP1002 (03) Student’s Learning Reflection

Last week, I conducted an activity on Padlet as to encourage student’s reflective practice by asking them to respond to the topic of discussion: “Philosophy & the contemporary educational issues: Share your thoughts…”

It was nice to know that students were able to summarise their views on the topic, as well as to position their views within the contemporary issue related to COVID-19 pandemic. It was interesting to read entries that included the importance of educational technology during the pandemic, given the fact that students of this section are all specialising in Islamic studies (SHPI).

Philosophy of Education: Bahasa Malaysia References

During synchronous OL, many students asked me about books on philosophy of education that they can refer to, especial ones published in Malay.

Here are a number of Malay books that I recommend, mostly from my personal collection:
