Dr. Nasrul received his B.Eng in Electric, Electronics, and Systems from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, (UKM) in 1999, his M.Eng in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2002, and his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, in 2009. He has been with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, since 1999. His research interests are mainly in the fields of biomedical image processing, medical electronics, artificial intelligence, and rehabilitation engineering. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Besides academics, he is actively involved in chess. He served as a national coach for chess during the ASEAN/ASIA Para Games from 2017 until 2023.
