Ts. Dr. Nelidya Md. Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer at UTM Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics, UTM Kuala Lumpur with a specialization in Photonics and Fiber Optics System. She has started her career as a tutor in 2002 for the Program of Diploma Studies (PPD) at UTM Kuala Lumpur. Later on, she has been promoted to a lecturer in 2004 after obtaining her Master degree. She has been vastly exposed to various experiences especially in academic management posts, such as Academic Advisor, Out Campus and Joint/ Franchise Program Coordinator, Academic Committee and others in the faculty since joining UTM. Besides, she has immense experience in developing new programmes and revising the existing programme of studies for UTM Perdana and UTM franchise programmes. She was also heavily involved in quality assurance monitoring such as a quality visit to colleges under a joint program with UTM. Due to her excellent service and commitment at UTM, she was granted the Excellence Service Award from UTM in the year 2005 and 2017. Besides, she was also been granted the Special Faculty Award from UTM Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology in the year 2017.

She did her post-doctoral research in Photonics and Fiber Optic Systems Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) from 2018 to 2019. She obtained her PhD from UPM for her thesis entitled ‘Enhanced Structure for Discrete and Remote L-Band Erbium-doped Fiber Amplifiers’. She was the recipient of SLAB scholarships from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (MOHE) for her research studies.  Her research interests are optical amplifiers, fiber lasers, Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and optical communication.  She has published her research works in several referred journals with high impact factors and international conferences to secure recognition from her peer researchers and professionals. Furthermore, she has contributed significantly towards promoting international level of research and effective way of teaching in UTM as she actively engages and implements Problem-based Learning (PBL), Cooperative Learning (CL) and Active Learning (AL) method in the classroom. All in all, she is motivated to contribute even more to the university, country and international community in the near future.
