Four pillars in self leadership

My personal leadership development plan is grounded in the Four Pillars of Self-Leadership: Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Self-Motivation, and Self-Development. This structured approach will guide my growth in both my high-voltage field and my roles in teaching and research.

1.Self-Awareness
In the high-voltage field, I excel in technical proficiency and problem-solving. My deep understanding of complex systems and ability to troubleshoot effectively have been crucial in high-pressure situations. I also possess strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail, which ensure safety and efficiency in high-voltage operations.

Areas for Improvement

In teaching and research, I need to enhance my awareness of different learning styles and research methodologies. Understanding how to tailor my approach to diverse student needs and staying updated with the latest research trends are areas that require more attention. I need to seek feedback from peers and supervisors/mentor to maintain and enhance current skills

2.Self-Regulation
I demonstrate strong emotional control and decision-making skills under pressure in high-voltage environments. My ability to stay calm and focused ensures that I manage safety protocols effectively and respond to emergencies with composure.

Areas for Improvement


In teaching, I need to work on managing stress and workload more effectively to avoid burnout. In research, improving my ability to handle setbacks and maintain persistence through challenging phases of research projects is crucial.

3.Self-Motivation
I am highly motivated by problem-solving and innovation in the high-voltage field. This intrinsic drive helps me stay engaged and proactive, consistently seeking ways to improve processes and technologies.

Areas for Improvement


In teaching, I need to enhance my motivation for student engagement and continuous professional development. In research, sustaining motivation during long-term projects and maintaining enthusiasm amidst setbacks can be challenging.

4.Self-Development
I actively pursue advanced training and certifications in the high-voltage field, which keeps my skills current and enhances my expertise. This commitment to learning contributes to my effectiveness and leadership in technical roles.

1. Kepentingan Adab dan Etika

Adab dan etika memainkan peranan penting dalam profesion sebagai pensyarah universiti kerana ia membentuk asas hubungan yang sihat antara pensyarah, pelajar, dan rakan sekerja. Ini melibatkan integriti, kejujuran, dan rasa hormat dalam setiap aspek tugas akademik dan sosial.

2. Cabaran Adab dan Etika

Pensyarah universiti sering menghadapi beberapa cabaran dalam mengekalkan adab dan etika dalam profesion mereka:

  • Tekanan Akademik: Tekanan untuk menerbitkan hasil penyelidikan, mendapatkan dana, dan mencapai matlamat peribadi boleh menyebabkan pensyarah terdedah kepada konflik kepentingan dan etika kerja yang meragukan.
  • Ketidaksamaan dalam Penilaian: Menangani isu ketidaksamaan dalam penilaian dan perlakuan pelajar dapat menjadi cabaran besar. Pensyarah perlu memastikan bahawa mereka memberi penilaian yang adil dan objektif, tanpa dipengaruhi oleh bias peribadi atau hubungan peribadi dengan pelajar.
  • Pengurusan Konflik: Konflik antara pelajar atau antara pelajar dan pensyarah mungkin timbul. Pensyarah perlu menangani konflik ini dengan profesionalisme, menjaga integriti dan adab tanpa membiarkan konflik tersebut menjejaskan hubungan mereka dengan pelajar atau rakan sekerja.

3. Langkah Mengatasi Cabaran

Untuk mengatasi cabaran ini, pensyarah boleh mengambil langkah-langkah berikut:

  • Pendidikan dan Latihan: Menghadiri kursus atau bengkel tentang adab dan etika akademik untuk memahami dan mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip etika yang betul dalam pekerjaan mereka.
  • Mewujudkan Garis Panduan: Menetapkan dan mengikuti garis panduan etika yang jelas dalam penilaian, interaksi dengan pelajar, dan pengurusan penyelidikan. Ini boleh termasuk menyemak dasar dan prosedur universiti berkaitan etika.
