Biography

Dr. Norelyza Hussein is a faculty member at Department of Environmental Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and was appointed in 2016. She obtained her B.Eng in Chemical (Bioprocess) from University Teknologi Malaysia in 2007. Dr. Norelyza started her career as Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 2008 before pursuing her study in master level in 2009. In 2011, she completed her M.Eng in Environmental Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and worked as Lecturer in UiTM Pahang before pursuing her study in PhD level. Dr. Norelyza obtained her PhD in 2015 from Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM Kuala Lumpur.

Dr. Norelyza has worked in different areas of Environmental Engineering and Management.  She has strong research interest in the field of air pollution control particularly in the removal of particulate matter and design of air pollution control technology. She is currently working on characterization and assessment of ambient aerosol especially fine size fraction. Additionally, Dr. Norelyza also has experiences in carbon footprint and life cycle assessment (LCA) projects.
