Teaching Philosophy

It is compulsory for all new lecturers at UTM to enhance and strengthen their knowledge as academicians before advancing their careers by joining the Baseline Competencies for Differentiated Career Pathway (BC4DCP) / Sijil Kompetensi Asas Akademik (SKAA) Series 2, 2024. Many expert lecturers at UTM are invited as speakers to explain career development for new lecturers briefly. One of the modules focuses on strengthening and clarifying self-leadership and the manners and ethics of being a lecturer, presented by Prof. Dr. Astuty Amrin.

As a lecturer, it is important to have a personal leadership development plan based on the Four Pillars of Self-Leadership that have been taught during the module. Based on the module given by Prof, I have mapped my personal leadership development plan for continuous growth and improvement in both my teaching and research capabilities as illustrated below;

My personal leadership development plan revolves around enhancing my teaching methods, advancing my research expertise, and fostering an inclusive learning environment. By focusing on these pillars, I aim to achieve personal and professional growth while making a significant impact in my field, especially engineering and artificial intelligence.

In addition, the module has included the topic of manners and ethics as a lecturer. Manners and ethics are fundamental to the profession of university lecturers and play a critical role in shaping the academic ecosystem. I have mapped how manners and ethics influence various aspects of higher education;
