Hack For Good 2.0 – Connected Mangroves

Ericsson Malaysia will be launching their second version of NB-IoT hackathon organized together with University Technology Malaysia and University Putra Malaysia in order to boost up the industry ecosystem and support the development of innovative applications.
This year, the theme of the Hackathon is “Connected Mangroves Challenge 2.0” for the purpose of monitoring Mangroves and environmental conditions that could affect the ecosystem in the area using the next generation of IoT sensors.


The hackathon aims to :
– Attract new ideas & stimulate innovations in the target IoT solution for mangrove ecosystem
– Create local use cases to accelerate cellular IoT adoption by university and industries
– Develop local talents to propel Malaysia as the premier regional IoT development hub

Participants team will work on one of the four themes to choose from :
1. IoT in Water Quality Management
2. IoT in Fisheries Production
3. IoT in Mangrove Ecology & Diversity
4. IoT in Climate Change
More than RM 40,000 in prizes will be given to the best application developer teams.
