Dr. Nur Azaliah Abu Bakar, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering from Multimedia University in 2000, followed by a Master’s in Information Technology from Universiti Teknologi Mara in 2004. She culminated her studies with a PhD in Information Technology, specializing in Enterprise Architecture, from UTM in 2017.

Boasting 24 years of dynamic experience in ICT, Dr. Azaliah has made significant contributions across the public sector and multinational companies such as MAMPU, INTAN, JPA, Astro Malaysia, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings. Her expertise spans Informatics, Enterprise Architecture, Business Intelligence, ICT Strategic Planning, and Digital Government. A dedicated member of the Operations and Business Intelligence Research Group (OBI RG), she is also affiliated with IASA, MBOT, IEEE, and ACM.

Dr. Azaliah’s passion for digital transformation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence drives her commitment to data-driven leadership and strategic foresight. She has led multimillion-dollar projects as a Chief Enterprise Architect, developing transformative cyber technology roadmaps and digitalization frameworks for various ministries and institutions.

Dr. Azaliah’s pioneering research includes the “Enterprise Architecture Implementation Assessment Model” for the Malaysian Public Sector. Her prolific contributions to the field are reflected in over 150 publications, with an H-index of 12 on SCOPUS and 15 on Google Scholar. As a mentor, she has guided 24 PhD and 23 Master’s students, fostering a legacy of research excellence.

In her current role as Associate Director of UTM International, where she oversees international collaborations and partnerships, Dr. Azaliah leverages her extensive experience to foster global academic relationships. Previously, as Assistant Dean (External and Global Engagement), she played a crucial role in expanding UTM’s international presence, facilitating collaborations with the community, industry, and strategic partners, and enhancing the branding of both UTM and the faculty.
