Problem Statement

  • The Direct Referencing Method is simple and easily implemented. However, it is not stable at a certain operation.
  • The Hybrid-Mode Control Method is modified from the Direct Referencing Method. This improve stability, but increase complexity.
  • The Perturbation and Observe or Hill Climbing Methods are robust. Nevertheless, choosing the right step size is difficult.
  • The Resistance Comparison Method is robust. Nonetheless, it has high computation burden.
  • The Analogue Method does not have computation problem. However, it difficult to implement and supportable to noise.

Solution

  • Proposed a new control strategy for the PV emulator called the Resistance Feedback Method.
  • Combine the simplicity of the Direct Referencing Method and the robustness of the Resistance Comparison Method.
  • Introduced the Integral Resetter when a high change in the operating point is detected.
