Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Roswanira Abdul Wahab obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry (Synthesis) at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She heads the Committee of Research, Publication, and Seminar of the Dept. of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Johor Bahru. She is a mentor for the SUNSHINE++ program, which nurtures research excellence in young academic staff. She is an Associate editor of several international journals (including PLoSOne, Main Group Chemistry, South African Journal of Engineering) and made Stanford University’s list of Global Top 2% Scientists 2020, with over 180 published articles and an H-index of 26.
She is also active in several national scientific societies in Malaysia. She is the vice-chair for the Bioanalysis sub-field for the Malaysian Association of Science Analysts (Persatuan Sains Analis Malaysia), an exco for the Malaysian Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and a member of the Americal Chemical Society (Malaysian Chapter).
Her research encompasses enzyme technology integrated with biogenic nanomaterials from biomass, green polymer composites for enzyme immobilization and water treatment, as well as bioinformatics.
