Success Story of My Students

Graduate on Time – Dr. Sultan Hammad Alshammari

Meet my second PhD graduate, Dr. Sultan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a truly dedicated student. At some point, we met every week to discuss about his research. He is an academician from University of Hail.

Before his proposal presentation, he had published 3 SCOPUS indexed journal. May ALLAH bless him always. His viva ended in less than 2 hours (just 1 hour and 40 minutes). Thanks to the writing technique imparted to me by one of my academic mentor, Assoc. Prof (retired) Mohammad Yusof Hj. Arshad.

Dr. Sultan is a cheering dream to a SV. Alhamdulillah.

Update: Dr. Sultan was appointed as Head of Department (Educational Technology) at University of Hail, Saudi Arabia beginning October 2019.

B1 (Minor Correction –  3 months) – Dr. Siti Zubaidah Omar

This is the end of viva session for Dr. Siti Zubaidah Omar (middle – red). Her viva session took almost 3 hours as the external examiner is impressed by her PhD research. I remember her smile when I told her she was graded B1.

Her struggle to finish her PhD is amazing. How she overcome the challenges  is amazing. Facing computer failure, long data collection delay due to haze, changing of examiner as the first examiner is too busy. Finally, she make it with B1. We owe the success to my mentor, Assoc. Prof. (retired) Mohammad Yusof Arshad for his guidance from the beginning even until he had retired.

This is our picture with Dean of Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and Assistant Dean of Quality during receiving award for her B1 during viva-voce. She is the only recipient from School of Education.

My Very First PhD Graduate – Dr. Mokhzani Ibrahim, the Special One

This is the post convocation celebration by Dr. Mokhzani’s family to welcome the former SV, Assoc. Prof Dr. Mohammad Yusof Arshad and me. Dr. Mokhzani is no. 3 from right. He completed his viva in just 1 hour and 20 minutes.

He is hardworking, and a fighter to the very end. We always met to discuss any difficulties he had with his research. He is an eager scholar, traveling so frequently to collect his data. Never give up in writing his thesis as well as able to think critically to arrange and present his finding.

As my first PhD graduate, of course he is the special one among my postgraduate graduates. He received two offer as senior lecturer less than 6 months from his convocation. He is now an academician at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan ldris. one of the oldest higher institution in Malaysia.
