Abstract

This research investigates on the characteristic of innovative floor panels that comprised of cold-formed steel section and lightweight concrete. The proposed composite floor panels consider the most optimum section for the intended light weight structure that can easy to produce, fabricate, and install. The sections are then prepared for experimental testing to looking into the behaviour in bending and combination of compression and bending. Speedy in installation procedures are also be considered. The behaviour of the floor panel can leads to new knowledge of the light steel structure, which can materialize the new residential buiding mode of low cost, high efficiency and large scale. The expected results from the project are listed below:

  1. Understanding on new floor panel system using lightweight concrete and cold-formed steel sections.
  2. Theoretical model for the proposed precast floor panel.
  3. Data comparison between analytical nad experimental results.
