Despite a busy schedule, he managed to give a good commitment to extra curricular activities contributing at the university, society and national levels. Nationally, having the expertise in the design and analysis of structural steel, he chaired a Technical Committee on the Structural Steel Products (TC3) at SIRIM, and was a member of ICP committee on Iron and Steel. He is also currently the member of Technical Committee on ‘Code of Practice of Structural Steel for Malaysia’.
At the society level, he has been actively involved in the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) for Sekolah Rendah Islam Hidayah, a school that had won the Special Award in Academic Excellence 2003 awarded by the Education Ministry. He was also appointed as the quality assurance consultant to MUSLEH, a network of more than 30 integrated schools. At the faculty level, he chaired the JAPNI committee, a committee responsible in inculcating good values at work.
