Holding an academic position as an Associate Professor at Dept. of Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Johor Bahru (UTM JB), Malaysia and holding a research position as the Institute Director at Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn), UTM JB. Conducting her research under Health & Wellness Research Alliance.
Member of several professional bodies including Graduate Engineer in Malaysia Board of Engineer (BEM), The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3), American Chemical Society Malaysia section (ACS), IEEE Malaysia section, IEEE-EMBS Medicine & Biology Society, The Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Organs (APSAO), and Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM). Holding Higher Education Teaching certification, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trainer certification, and RIA Research Impact associate trainer certification.
Actively participate in the publications of journal, book, and conference proceeding. Becomes the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of HumEnTech journal, the Section Editor for Jurnal Teknologi, and the reviewers for several high-impact international journals such as Materials Science & Engineering C, Journal of Healthcare Engineering, etc.
Her research interests are localised on biomaterials, tissue engineering, and drug delivery (membrane, nanofibres, thin film, implant coating, scaffold, and hydrogel). The development and fabrication of biomaterials are prominently designed for bone, cardiovascular, and skin applications. Has been awarded World Technology Universities Network (WTUN) Exchange Fund 2026 to University of Bradford, United Kingdom (UK) and Waseda Researcher Fund 2026 to Waseda University, Japan. Has also been appointed as the Visiting Professor at Universitas Andalas, Indonesia. Strong passion in chess tournament/game at state, university, and faculty levels with the achievement of several medals.
