Visit to Indonesia Research Institutions

Hi-Tech F4 Program: Materials

 

20 – 22 May 2025

Under the Hi-Tech F4 Program: Materials, we pay a visit to IPB University for our last milestone on in-vivo implantation of biodegradable implant materials. Thanks to Dr. Fakhrul Ulum, the Deputy Director of Direktorat Kajian Strategis dan Reputasi Akademik (DKaSRA), IPB, as well my ex lab colleague for providing the platform for us to do pre-clinical test in sheep animal model. Thanks to School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for inviting me as the speaker for a High-impact Publication Workshop. An honoured meeting as well product showcase by the Vice Rector of IPB, Prof. Deni Noviana. We are so impressed on how IPB forward their research products towards commercialisation, thus they have three their own malls.

On the next day, we continue the trip to Universitas Indonesia (UI), specifically to Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) and Integrated Laboratory Research Centre (ILRC). Our last research visit happened at BRIN, Research Centre of Polymer Technology which located at Serpong. My both students, Reza and Dida are currently at BRIN, Reza is exactly the BRIN staff and Dida is sponsored by BRIN for research attachment. And both of them played the main role in assisting the visit to all required laboratories. For materials people like me, BRIN is like the heaven of characterisation and performance testing facilities!!! They have a lot, too much varieties of instruments that you can exactly swim in the ocean of research.
