How you can view the solar eclipse within Malaysia

Those in Malaysia will get to experience between 70 percent and 90 percent of the eclipse Wednesday morning, depending on their location.
KUALA LUMPUR: In the wee hours of Wednesday, a solar eclipse will occur in Sumatra, Borneo and Sulawesi in Indonesia.

The umbra (total eclipse) experience will be from Sumatra up the Maluku Islands in the east before it enters the Pacific Ocean.

This rare phenomenon is estimated to last 4 minutes and 9 seconds.

Malaysia, however, would only experience the penumbra (partial eclipse) with about 70 percent to 90 percent cover over the sun’s entire surface, depending on one’s location in the country.
