Dr. Yip Bao fang is a senior lecturer in the Department of Structures and Materials at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. With a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University Teknologi Malaysia, Dr. Yip has a profound interest in numerical modelling and simulation. He also actively participates in The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.

Over the years, I have authored numerous articles and research papers that delve into the numerical simulation and structural engineering.
My notable publications include studies on the numerical simulation of capillary flow of healing agent in encapsulated-based self-healing concrete as well as fire resistance. I have few collaborative papers on the cold-formed steels. These works have not only contributed to academic discourse but have also been instrumental in shaping practical applications in the field.
Courses Offered
As a senior lecturer, I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of courses that are integral to the civil engineering curriculum. These include ‘Advanced Structural Analysis’, where students explore complex structural systems and their responses to various loads, and ‘Innovative Materials in Construction’, which focuses on the latest advancements in material technology and their applications in modern engineering projects. My teaching philosophy emphasizes a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing students for successful careers in engineering.
