Academic Trip to Parlimen Malaysia and Istana Kehakiman, Putrajaya

On 12th December 2024, an academic trip was organized to Parlimen Malaysia and Istana Kehakiman, Putrajaya, involving 28 students from UTM Space under the Real Estate and Land Administration and Development Program. The trip served as an enriching experience, aligning with the learning objectives of the course Malaysian Legal System (SBET1022/SBEH1032).

The primary purpose of the trip was to provide students with practical exposure to the workings of Malaysia’s legal and legislative systems. This hands-on learning opportunity complemented their classroom-based studies, offering insights into the intricacies of the legal framework and governance processes in Malaysia.

The subject lecturers, Dr. Aminah Mohsin and Dr. Zafirah Ab Muin, led the initiative to ensure the trip was informative and engaging. Accompanying them as supervising lecturers were Dr. Maryanti Mohd Raid and Dr. Siti Zaleha Daud, whose guidance and support further enriched the students’ learning experience.

During the visit to Parlimen Malaysia, students had the chance to observe parliamentary proceedings, gaining a better understanding of the legislative process and the roles of lawmakers. At Istana Kehakiman, students were introduced to the judiciary system, exploring how cases are handled and the importance of justice in maintaining societal balance.

This academic trip emphasized the practical relevance of theoretical concepts taught in the classroom. It not only enhanced students’ understanding of Malaysia’s legal system but also inspired a deeper appreciation for the nation’s governance and judicial processes.

Kudos to all the students and lecturers involved for making this trip a meaningful and impactful learning experience!
