It was an honor to participate in the International Conference on Sustainable Engineering, Green Construction, Urban Studies, Agriculture, and Food Resilience (ICoSECURE 2024), a collaborative event led by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universitas Semarang, Indonesia. The conference held on 29 October 2024, renowned for fostering discussions on sustainability and innovation, brought together experts, researchers and practitioners from various disciplines.

I had the privilege of presenting my paper titled, “Navigating the Challenges of Happy City Development: Strategies from Perak’s Local Authorities”. My presentation explored the complexities of implementing urban happiness initiatives in Perak, focusing on practical strategies and the role of local authorities in achieving these goals. The feedback and questions from the audience were incredibly enriching, sparking meaningful discussions on urban sustainability and citizen well-being.

The conference was a melting pot of ideas, addressing topics such as:

• Sustainable Engineering: Innovations driving eco-friendly solutions in construction and infrastructure.
• Green Construction: Building methods that align with environmental preservation.
• Urban Studies: Theories and practices enhancing city planning and development.
• Agriculture and Food Resilience: Ensuring food security amidst environmental and societal challenges.

ICoSECURE 2024 also provided excellent networking opportunities, connecting me with scholars and professionals who are equally passionate about creating sustainable and livable cities.
