“The More You Know The More You Realize You Don’t Know”

TEACHING

Teaching Philosophy

As educators, I firmly believe that the art of teaching is an ever-evolving journey that never truly comes to a halt. It is not only about acquiring knowledge but also harnessing it to benefit both ourselves and those around us. The pursuit of knowledge must be an active and ongoing process, grounded in practical application and experimentation.

To me, the ultimate aim of education is not simply imparting knowledge to students, but rather enabling them to apply it effectively in their day-to-day lives. Mere memorization and regurgitation of facts are not enough; students must learn to use their knowledge in meaningful and practical ways.

It is our responsibility to be sincere and genuine in imparting knowledge, free from any ulterior motives or selfish desires. We should strive to teach with the sole purpose of spreading knowledge and uplifting society, seeking nothing in return but the blessings of Allah.

In essence, my teaching philosophy centers around the concept of continuous learning and practical application, with the objective of unlocking every student’s potential in all areas of life. Through sincere and selfless teaching, we can create a better world and a brighter future for all.

GOALS OF STUDENT LEARNING

As an educator, my primary goal is to empower my students with the knowledge and skills they will require to succeed in their future endeavours. I firmly believe that education should not be limited to mere transfer of information, but rather a transformative process that inspires students to think critically and apply their learning to practical situations.

In addition to academic excellence, I also recognize the importance of cultivating students’ holistic development, which encompasses their intellectual abilities, skills, and attitudes. As a facilitator, I strive to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth. For Muslim students, I make it a point to highlight the ethical and moral dimensions of education, emphasizing the importance of knowledge for the greater good, not just for the sake of passing exams and obtaining high grades.

By focusing on what my students need rather than what they want, I can customize my approach to ensure that they are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of the future. Through my commitment to comprehensive education and holistic development, I hope to inspire and empower each of my students to become lifelong learners and contribute positively to society.

Belief and practices of assessment and evaluation

I firmly believe that assessment and evaluation are essential tools to understand the learning progress of students. It is crucial that students understand the importance of these tools as well, as it motivates them to improve themselves and strive for advanced knowledge. To achieve this, I implement continuous and light assessments in my classes, making sure that students see them as a challenge to overcome, rather than a punishment.

In my approach to assessment and evaluation, I focus on providing constructive feedback that helps students identify areas of improvement and work on them. I believe that the feedback should not only be about pointing out mistakes, but also highlighting the strengths and areas where students excelled. This helps students build confidence and self-awareness, and encourages them to keep striving for excellence.

Moreover, I recognize that assessment and evaluation should be tailored to individual needs and learning styles. This is why I use various assessment methods such as quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations, to ensure that every student has a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Overall, my belief and practices of assessment and evaluation aim to promote a positive and engaging learning environment, where students feel motivated to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.

Self-reflection of teaching development over time and how this relates to future goals

As an educator, I recognize the importance of self-reflection and its impact on my teaching development. Looking back at my journey as a teacher, I am constantly reminded of the valuable lessons and experiences that have shaped my approach to teaching. By reflecting on my past successes and challenges, I can identify areas for improvement and adjust my teaching strategies accordingly.

In order to continue developing as a teacher, I regularly seek feedback from my students and colleagues. I take this feedback seriously and use it to inform my teaching practices, with the aim of continuously improving the learning experience for my students.

One of the best indications of my teaching effectiveness is seeing my students grow and flourish in their respective fields, using the knowledge and skills they have gained in my classes to serve and benefit others. To achieve this, I strive to maintain open and honest communication with my students, seeking their feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Looking towards the future, I am committed to refining my teaching skills and adapting to new trends and technologies in education. My ultimate goal is to inspire and empower my students to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. Through self-reflection and a dedication to ongoing learning and growth, I am confident that I can continue to evolve as an educator and make a positive impact in the lives of my students.

self-reflection of teaching development over time and how this relates to future goals

The best reflection on how I perform in my teaching is when I know the students of mine is now being a great person who lead in their own field.

At the time being, I always communicate with my students and my past-students on how was my lectures and how could i improved for better.
