My hometown, Kluang, has recently gone through an intense change aimed to increase attractions within the town. One of such efforts was achieved through the Kluang Kreatif 1020 programme, where a 100m alleyway was given a new life by mural painters. Now I can say that besides the tasty railway station breakfast and Kluang coffee, there is also this murals that one can visit. Unlike the wall art in Ipoh Old Town, these are not scattered, but more concentrated in one area.

Here are some photos I ‘borrowed’ from others on the Kluang Kreatif Lane. These are from Azihuddin Ariffin.

This one is from The Star online newspaper.

We do have some hidden artwork throughout the town, though it is not clearly designated. I haven’t captured many photos, but Insya Allah next time I’ll update those.

Another interesting area is the artwork in one of the town’s shopping mall, Kluang Mall. Art has been a feature in this mall, with the many mini art expos that it holds.

So why not pay Kluang, the Bat Town, a visit.
