This semester (Sem2_1617), we will start using a new form for PSM2 evaluation. This new form has an addition of the short paper mark, and a reduction from the progress report marks.
Below is an excerpt of the evaluation form, showing the changes made.
Previously, the Progress Report is apportioned 10% of the total marks, and this is given solely by the supervisor. Currently, the percentage is reduced to 5%. The remaining 5% is now set for the short paper, and is given by an average of the supervisor and the evaluators marks.
**Note: it is important for both supervisors and students to ensure that the reports follow style and format of UTM thesis, and all citations and references are done and done correctly. Also please ensure that plagiarism is checked.
For the short paper, marks are awarded based on:
- the originality of the paper : no plagiarizing, showing work done in their PSM
- technical soundness : showing good judgment or reasoning; logical and justifiable solutions and argument
- clarity of presentation: ideas are represented are clear, concise and organized way
- format, citation and references: follow paper, citation and references format, all citations are referred, no or very minimal grammatical errors.
