KUALA LUMPUR, 10 August 2016 – Three researchers from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have won the Gold Awards at the International Innovative Practices in Higher Education Expo (I-PHEX) 2016 which was held at the UTM Kuala Lumpur International Campus.
They were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yudariah Mohammad Yusof, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naziha Ahmad Azli and Dr. Noor Azean Atan. Dr. Yudariah, with their project entitled ‘Promoting Positive Attitute Toward Mathematics Through Thinking Mathematically’ also being announced as the Best in Engineering Education.
Besides Gold, UTM researchers have also managed to grabb Silver and Bronze awards in the same competition. The Silver medalists were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusof Ahmad from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noraini Abu Talib, Faculty of Management.
The Bronze award winners were Dr. Nor Bahiah Hj. Ahmad and Dr. Noraini Ibrahim, both from the Faculty of Computing, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marlia Puteh from Language Academy.
The I-PHEX 2016 was a better platform to showcase innovative practices that can be shared and emulated among academics in higher education worldwide with its original purpose which was to recognise and awards efforts to improve higher education.
I-PHEX 2016 was jointly organized by the UTM Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) and the Society for Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) and received a total of 36 participants nationwide.
