UNITED KINGDOM, 9 September 2016 – The Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar was invited as a speaker at the World Technology Universities Congress (WTUC) held at Bradford University, United Kingdom.
The one day conference was also attended by the presidents and vice-chancellors of world most renown technological universities namely Aalborg University (Denmark), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Brunel University (United Kingdom), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) (Australia).
Also attending the conference were the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras (India), Queensland University of Technology (Australia), University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (China), Tampere University of Technology (Finland), Tohoku University (Japan) and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan).
The Congress has provided a platform for senior figures from technological universities, business, government and NGOs to develop alliances, discuss capacity-building opportunities, and investigate the feasibility of the creation of a World Technology Universities Network.
Strategic Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Harriet Dunbar-Morris led the development of the Congress.
