JOHOR BAHRU, 30 November 2016 – A car boot sale organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering Family Club or Kelab Keluarga Fakulti Kejuruteraan Awam (KKFKA) was held in Block M50, Faculty of Civil Engineering Johor Bahru campus.
A total of 41 people comprising staff hawkers and traders participated with each lot costing RM10.00 in rent as well as various other equipment rentals such as umbrellas.
Programme Coordinator, Siti Norazrina Noraman said the programme was organized as a school holiday activity programme in addition to inserting the entrepreneurial spirit to the children of the staff involved in helping their parents do business.
“In addition, the KKFKA savings can be improved to enable us to do a variety of family activities after this,” she said.
The concept of the car boot sale is an open concept where the user opens the hood of their car in a parking space reserved for displaying their merchandise.
“We have done many promotions and announcements via email the staff and also social media such as Facebook, Iboard UTM, UTMonline and also posters in student’s residential college’s around campus,” she said.
According to Siti Norazrina, the KKFKA is open to further hold this event in the future if the response garnered was encouraging.
