1. You cannot generate any automatic tables without first using styles effectively throughout your document. If you want an automatic table of contents you need to label all the different headings with different styles. Below is a summary of the heading and its style, used in this template.
  2. The table of contents is a snapshot of the headings and page numbers in your document. At any time, you can update it by right-clicking on it and selecting Update field.  Notice that once the table of contents is in your document, it will turn gray if you click on it. This indicates that it is getting information from somewhere else.
  3. Do not delete anything from the TOC/Senarai Rajah/Jadual/Lampiran page. Everything has been pre-formatted.

How to create TOC

  1. Reference -> Table of Contents -> Customs Table of Content
  2. Print Preview: Tick Show page numbers and Right align page numbers
  3. General: Formats: From template
  4. Click Options. Tick Table entry field. Set the TOC level according the Styles level below.
  5. Click Modify. For every TOC level:
    1. Modify -> Formatting: TOC1, TOC2 bold. Others, normal.
    2. Format -> Paragraph:
    3. Follow the figures below.

 To add another title, type your title as normal. Then, add TC field at the end of the title and use Chapter Title style. Just cut and paste the TC field from previous title and change the title appropriately.


For Chapter Numbers, use Heading 1 style, which will automatically number the Chapters in the text.
