For the past semesters, I’ve been using Whatsapp to communicate with my students. However, when using WA, we had to share our personal phone number with them and also we had to add their numbers in our phone book before we get to WA with them. I usually only send the message to the representative and the rep will pass along the message to the other students.
I’ve resisted Telegram so far but finally last week I succumbed (that’s another story). I found out Telegram has channels that people could subscribed to without revealing our phone numbers. And best yet, they couldn’t reply. It is purely a one way communication.
So what better way to use Telegram Channel for our last minute announcement that could be sent to every one in our class. Now, no more class rep. My phone number is safe. Yeay! Can’t wait to try it out with my Digital Logic students.
