Profile of Achievements
- I was awarded the 2022 Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM), an initiative by the prestigious Malaysian Academy of Science which identifies the leading research scientists active in R&D in Malaysia, acknowledges their contributions and showcases them as experts in their respective research areas.
- I was appointed Head of the Strategic Communications Unit, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education Malaysia, from March 2017 until May 2019. Responsibilities include advising the Director-General of Higher Education on matters relating to the Department’s strategic plans, documenting the corporate profile of the Department, producing documents related to Higher Education 4.0 in the Malaysian context and speaking on the impacts and challenges of the disruptive technologies to the higher education sector.
- I was the Head of the Language Department, Language Academy, UTM Kuala Lumpur, in 2017 and Deputy Director Centre for General Courses and Co-Curriculum, UTM Kuala Lumpur, in 2012.
- My performance history includes participating in the write-up of Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015 – 2025 (Higher Education), leading the Department of Higher Education Malaysia in its strategic plan 2018-2022 agenda, producing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) book highlighting the Malaysian Higher Education application of advanced technologies (2018), preparing the Malaysian Private Higher Education Way Forward strategies (2020-2025).
- I received the Newton Ungku Omar Research Fund on cross-cultural communication research between Malaysian and UK students’ collaborative STEM online laboratory project in 2017 and Newton Fund-Science and Technologies Research Council Official Development Assistance in 2018.
- In 2020, I was appointed as the consultant in developing the Strategic Plan 2021-2026 for the International Science and Technology Innovation Centre for South-South Corporation under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC).
- I also participated in formulating the Malaysia National Artificial Intelligence Roadmap (2021-2025) from December 2020 to July 2021 to accelerate AI adoption across the public and private sectors in Malaysia. As a member of the consultant team, I led the Talent and AI acculturation strategies in attracting, recruiting, developing, nurturing and retaining AI talents, towards creating a sustainable and resilient workforce and conducive workplace for organizational transformation.
- I was also a member of the consultant team working on the Department of Environment’s (DOE) Strategic Plan 2021-2025 starting from May 2020 – May 2021. I contributed to forming the future direction for the DOE via the strategies and action plan.
- I also contributed to formulating a strategic plan for one of the leading private universities in Malaysia, UCSI University. I have been appointed as an affiliate consultant for UCSI Consulting and currently working on UCSI University Strategic Plan 2022-2025.
