Synopsis : This subject introduces different types of unit operations and separation processes involved in the chemical industries such as particle technology, crystallization, solid-liquid separation, drying and evaporation. All of the topic is illustrated by detail examples and is accompanied by homework exercises.
Course Outcomes : By the end of the course, students are able to:
CO1: Explain the differences of solid-liquid operations and equipments.

CO2:Calculate particle size and power requirement for size reduction process.

CO3:Determine terminal velocity of particles in motion and minimum fluidization velocity of fluid.

CO4:Solve crystal yield and energy release during crystallization.

CO5:Analyze complex problems related to constant pressure or constant rate filtrations.

CO6:Analyze changes in moisture contents of solid during drying.

CO7:Design single and multiple effect evaporators.

CO8:Choose to commit to seek knowledge in literature of particulate technology application
