Course Information

This course introduces students to the characteristics, operation, and limitations of semiconductor devices. In order to gain this understanding, it is essential to have a thorough knowledge of the basic physics and operation of the semiconductor material. The goal of this course is to bring together crystal structures, quantum mechanics, quantum theory for solids, semiconductor material physics, and fundamental of pn structures. At the end of the course student should understand the operation of present day and future electronic devices.
