Important tips for final year project

Managing literature review:

  • Get a free referencing software, Mendeley to organize your literature review.
  • Get used to Scopus database to search for publications related to the project. This database is accessable within the university or outside the university using vpn service.
  • Start reading your first article from Scopus search. Learn how to save and organize your literature review in Mendeley.
  • Use Mendeley plugin for Word to link you reference library to Word document.
  • Try to generate the first reference list in Word document.

Submission of Proposal and Thesis through Turnitin

  • Register for an account in  TurnItIn.
  • Enroll into the Final Year Project class using the following ID & password:
    Class ID: 15591101
    Password: a123456
  • Submit the complete report via TurnItIn assignment entitled  “Proposal (MP1 and UGP1)” or “Thesis (MP2 and UGP2)”. Other modes of submission will not be accepted.
  • Upon submission you should be able to see the similarity index and identify the problematic paragraphs. The maximum acceptable similarity index for final year project is 20%. You may resubmit if the submitted document is reported to have high similarity index.
