Fauzi Hussin

Fauzi Hussin (Ph.D) –  associate professor at the Academy of Islamic Civilization, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

A PhD graduate from Durham University, United Kingdom in 2011 and earned master and bachelor degree from University Of Malaya.

His primary research interest is in Islamic Political Economy, Islamic Economics and Political Economy of Arab Gulf Countries.

Expertise and Area of Interest

Islamic Economics and Political Economy

Active research in these areas by concentrating into Muslim countries relationships, halal businesses and the certification as well as issues related to Islamic Economics. The research is also extended into Muslim behaviours towards markets and etc.

Active advocate to society and academia through publication and policy recommendation.

Teaching and Learning

Embracing Industrial Revolution 4.0 through creative and innovative teaching approaches. Adopting fun and creative learning is the philosophy for the millennials. These are the main keys for teaching general courses such as Islamic and Asian Civilizations, Thinking of Science and Technology, Islamic Entrepreneurship and etc.

Editing and Publishing

Being an editor as well as journal manager for UMRAN – International Journal of Islamic and Civilizational Studies has been a great experience for me.

The journal is flagship publication project under the Academy of Islamic Civilization, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, UTM. The journal is published by Penerbit UTMPress.
