You can reserve your very own Oculus Rift headset starting on Jan. 6 when pre-orders go live.
The pre-order process opens at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m ET, and Oculus VR promises to share “everything you need to know to order your Rift” on that day. “Everything” presumably includes the head-mounted display’s price, which remains a no-show for now.
Previous Oculus developer kit pricing hovered in the $300-400 range, though it was non-final tech that didn’t include the now-built-in headphones and other assorted improvements introduced with/since the “Crescent Bay” prototype debuted at Oculus Connect 2014. Read more…
