Ted Cruz is out with a splashy new ad — literally — featuring people in business wear wading across a river as he accuses the media of ignoring the economic toll of illegal immigration.
“When the mainstream media covers immigration it doesn’t often see it as an economic issue,” the Texas GOP senator intones in a voice-over as people in suits and ties run through the desert and clamber across a river. “The politics of it would be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press.” Read more…
