“I just recently turned 70, and also I just recently turned 5’9″,” quips Steve Martin on the latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. He and host Jerry Seinfeld toy with that phrasing as they drive through California in a romantic Italian car.
They don’t finalize a joke — but their scenic drive and coffee date in Episode 702 of Seinfeld’s web series capture Martin’s persistent desire be as funny as possible.
“The funny thing about your comedy is you could probably place it in a number of different decades and it would still feel very fresh,” Seinfeld says to his guest. “If you just came along now, 26 years old, in the white suit, people would be like ‘you gotta see this guy.’” Read more…
