Beach holidays: A time to relax, get some sun and be questioned for hours by armed police during a drug bust.
That was the nightmare experience of Dieter Winkler, who was staying with his family in a Burleigh Heads’ house on Australia’s Gold Coast that he had booked on Airbnb over the Christmas period, News Corp Australia reported.
The family of seven was questioned for five hours by Burleigh Criminal Investigation Branch officers, Winkler told the outlet, after a drug lab was found in one of the bedrooms during a raid. “The cops piled in on a mission,” he said. “They didn’t know we were innocent, so it wasn’t a friendly reception … We’d just been getting ready for a barbecue.” Read more…
