PASADENA, California — Expectations and hopes could not have been higher for The Muppets‘ return to television back in September, but it didn’t take long for reviewers and fans alike to declare the show had missed the mark
But ABC President Paul Lee wants to give it a second shot
Back in November, the network announced it was bringing in Galavant producer Kristin Newman to replace showrunner Bob Kushell to take the series in another direction. The retooling, he told reporters Saturday, has paid off
“We’ve done some fantastic scripts going forward,” he said at the Television Critics Association press tour. “We have very high hopes for them and hope [the episodes are] going to be as good as the scripts were.” Read more…
