Recently, I wrote that the 2016 Mazda Miata was all about connecting with the road. But, if I’m honest, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is, too.
If the Miata is connecting with the road, it does so in a familial, gentle way, like how your grandmother envelopes you in a big, soft and warm hug. The way the 4C Spider connects you to the road is like how a brain surgeon’s drill connects with your skull — in a fast, loud and brutal way.
That isn’t to say it’s bad, though; it’s quite the opposite, really. However, where you’d just need to be a driving enthusiast to enjoy the Miata, you’ll need to be both a driving enthusiast and an insane person to enjoy the Alfa. Thankfully, I am both those things. Read more…
