Alaska Airlines pilot arrested for flying under the influence in 2014

Federal authorities arrested a now-retired Alaska Airlines pilot on Wednesday, who is suspected of operating flights while under the influence.

David Hans Arntson, 60, was tested for alcohol after two flights, one from San Diego to Portland and one from Portland to Orange County, on June 20, 2014. In two blood alcohol tests, he tested 0.134 and then 0.142, both over the federal limit of 0.10 for pilots flying commercial planes.

He was arraigned on the felony charge, and released on a $25,000 bond ahead of a Feb. 10 arraignment, according to the Justice Department. Read more…
