A real-time video taken by British astronaut Tim Peake gives people on Earth a little taste of what it’s like to look down on the planet from above
The video — which puts the bright blues and browns of the coast of Iran and Pakistan and the Arabian Sea on display — shows Peake’s point of view looking out of the International Space Station’s cupola, a huge window looking down on Earth and a favorite part of the outpost for residents hoping to take photos of the planet from above.
While the video is only 17 seconds long, it gives a good sense of what it’s like to look at the planet as an astronaut on the station. Many videos show time-lapse views from the station looking at Earth, but this video takes its time. Read more…
