NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Donald Trump canceled a planned speech to a major gathering of conservatives at the last minute on Friday, leading to further frustration from an an already-furious group that’s been powerless to stop his rise.
“He will not be able to speak at [the Conservative Political Action Conference] as he has done for many consecutive years,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement, less than 24 hours before he was supposed to address the gathering of movement leaders and activists.
