Easter celebrations in Lahore, Pakistan were interrupted on Sunday evening when an explosion ripped through Gulshan-e-Iqbal park.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least 44 were killed and 91 were wounded in the blast, according to The Associated Press. Senior police officer Haider Ashraf said the incident appears to be the work of a suicide bomber, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal was filled with Christians who were out celebrating Easter, according to Ashraf. He also indicated that the explosion looks to have been triggered close to where children were gathered to enjoy the park’s rides. Read more…
